CANACONA: Stating most of his questions submitted are accepted in Lok Sabha, MP(South) Capt. Viriato Fernandes promised that the nagging health problem of rampant Renal failure cases in Canacona will be raised during the Budget Session in New Delhi.
Capt Viriato Fernandes was speaking to the media on the sidelines of his visit to felicitate SSC meritorious students of Shree Katyayani Baneshwar Vidyalaya on Saturday. The visit is, however, the first one since Fernandes was elected to the Lok Sabha.
“Today I had come to meet the students of a School, but I promise to come back and together with the concerned people will take up issues and do everything possible to solve them(issues). The issues are many, and many are urgent and serious in nature, such as issues in the Health Sector, Education, Infrastructure, Road, Supply, Commissioning of a Dam, and Land Acquisitions, besides the traffic problems of commuters at Karmalghat section, amongst many more. We will take local representatives and together will decide how to solve these and many of these types of issues,” he said.
Responding to a specific query after being reminded of his assurance during the election campaign about Kidney ailments mostly affecting people from Canacona, Fernandes promised to raise the issue of Renal Failures in Parliament during the Budget session itself. ‘Yes, we have taken up a number of issues and submitted questions this time in the Budget session of the Parliament proceedings and luckily all our questions are accepted in the Lok Sabha. We will certainly use this opportunity to solve people’s issues and problems, particularly about the grave kidney ailments concerns of Canconcars’
