PANAJI: Due to the ongoing heavy rainfall, Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane said that his department has temporarily suspended access to all waterfalls within forest areas and protected areas, including trekking and hiking.
“We have temporarily suspended access to all waterfalls within forest areas and protected areas, including trekking and hiking. This measure is essential for the safety of everyone,” said Rane.
“Let’s prioritize safety and wait for the weather to stabilize before resuming these activities,” he said
As the monsoon season graces Goa, Rane said that they are taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of both our locals and tourists.
“With the onset of the rains, access to waterfalls within forest areas and protected zones, including trekking and hiking activities, will be temporarily suspended. Your safety is our utmost priority, and we are committed to providing a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone,’ he said.
Speaking on Dengue, Rane said the risk of diseases like dengue increases. Be vigilant about the symptoms: high fever, severe headache, pain behind the eyes, severe muscle and joint pain, nausea, vomiting, and rash on the skin.
“If you or someone you know experiences these symptoms, visit your nearest health centre or Goa Medical College (GMC) immediately. Early detection and treatment are essential for recovery,” Rane added.
