PANAJI: Hours after Cheif Minister Dr Pramod Sawant assured reinstating the striking terminated Anganwadi workers, Leader of Opposition Michael Lobo met the workers.
He assured his and the Congress party’s support to teh striking workers.
Speaking to the reporters, Lobo said that CM must take the workers back as soon as possible.
“With folded hands, I request CM Sawant to please take the striking workers back on humanitarian grounds. They are poor ladies; they work in Anganwadi, not that they earn a lot,” he said.
He said that the workers have to support their families.
“If CM Sawant wants them to write that they are not affiliated with any political party, then let them give it,” he stated.
Lobo said that he is sure that the workers are not members of any political party or no party has told them to strike here.
