PANJIM: With rise in Covid-19 infections in the city, CCP Mayor Uday Madkaikar today requested Smart City Development Limited to postpone their scheduled Cycling Event from Ribandar to DonaPaula on Sept 13 to October 2, to promote Cycling in the City.
“It is learnt that Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) is organising a
Cycling Event in the City from Ribandar Patto to Donapaula (NIO Circle) on every Sunday
from 13th September 2020 to promote Cycling in the City.” said Madkaikar
He said, “Taking into account the fact that COVID-19 cases are rising sharply within the City and to further avoid the Cyclists who will be participating in large numbers getting infected with COVID-19 and in order to exercise absolute caution against the Pandemic, you are kindlyrequested to postpone the event with immediate effect.”
Meanwhile, the Mayor has suggested Smart City to commence the event on October 2nd being Gandhi Jayanti and thereafter every Sunday as proposed.
