PANAJI: Stunned by Maharashtra government declaring Goa as a “Sensitive Origin”, Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has urged the Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to withdraw the circular.
The Chief Minister said that COVID is a global pandemic and he must not single out the States.
“COVID19 is a global pandemic. Let us put up a combined fight against this pandemic under the leadership of PM @narendramodiji. I urge @CMOMaharashtra not to single out states as ‘Places of Sensitive Origin’, and withdraw the said order in public interest,” Sawant tweeted.
The Maharashtra government has put out a new SOP for those travelling to the state particularly by train from six of the worst affected states. If you are travelling to Maharashtra from Goa, Kerala, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan or Gujarat by train, then you will have to undergo a compulsory home quarantine time for 15 days after arrival in the state.
Public will be allowed to board the train only if you have a negative RT-PCR report. Unreserved passengers will not be allowed to board trains coming from these States to Maharashtra.
