Panaji: Panaji Police have arrested a 21-year-old woman in connection with a house theft reported from Taleigao, in which cash and gold ornaments worth over ₹6.7 lakh were stolen.
According to police, a case bearing Crime No. 15/2026 was registered at Panaji Police Station on February 2, 2026, at around 5.05 pm under Sections 305 and 331(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), following a complaint lodged by Kishor, son of Yeshwant Kunkolkar, aged 50 years, a resident of H. No. 657, Nagali, Taleigao, Tiswadi, Goa.
The complainant stated that on February 1, 2026, between 1.45 pm and 2.35 pm, an unknown woman entered his residence by opening the latch of the house and decamped with cash amounting to ₹50,000 and gold ornaments weighing about 49 grams, valued at approximately ₹6,23,280, which were kept in a cupboard.
During the course of investigation, police arrested the accused woman identified as Ravina Suresh Sonune, wife of Salman Sab, aged 21 years. She is a resident of H. No. 376, Caranzalem, Panaji, Tiswadi, and is presently residing at Indiranagar, Chimbel, Old Goa, Tiswadi. The arrest was made on February 2, 2026.
