BICHOLIM: In a disturbing incident, a woman from Poira, Mayem, was allegedly abused and assaulted by her own brother, leaving her injured.
According to Bicholim Police, the complainant, Mrs. Sharmila Desai (39), resident of Poira, reported that on September 19 at around 1.30 pm, her brother Tukaram Laximan Chodankar (40), a resident of Quitla, Bardez, trespassed into her maternal house at Poira with criminal intent.
He allegedly hurled filthy abuses at her and later assaulted her, causing a grievous injury to the fourth finger of her right hand.
Based on the complaint, police registered Crime No. 120/2025 under Sections 329(3), 352 and 117(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further enquiry is underway.
