MORMUGAO: In a shocking incident reported at Rumdawada Jetty, Mormugao, a woman was allegedly assaulted by five individuals.
According to the complaint filed by Santoshi Fadte, a resident of Rumdawada Jetty, the incident occurred on February 24, 2025, at around 6:30 PM. She alleged that the accused, identified as Vasant alias Vinod Fadte, Sunita Fadte, Ankita Raul, Akansha Vasant Fadte, and Tanisha Fadte, attacked her with a common intention.
As per the complaint, accused Vasant alias Vinod Fadte slapped the complainant before fleeing the scene. Meanwhile, Sunita Fadte and Ankita Raul allegedly restrained the victim by holding her hands, while Akansha Vasant Fadte bit her on the left hand, and Tanisha Fadte inflicted a bite injury on her abdomen. The victim also claimed that she was verbally abused and assaulted, leading to multiple injuries.
Following the complaint, the Mormugao Police registered an offence under sections 117(2), 352, and 115(2) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation into the case is being conducted by PSI Saidatta Naik of Mormugao Police Station.
Authorities are probing the matter to determine the exact circumstances leading to the attack.
