SALIGAO: Police at Saligao have registered an offence against a woman for allegedly assaulting her sister-in-law and causing her injuries during a family dispute at Pilerne.
According to the complaint lodged by Mrs. Bela Francisca Noronha (41), resident of Volvovaddo, Pilerne, the incident occurred on October 3, 2025, around 10:15 p.m. when the accused Helen Fernandes (35) of Umtawado, Calangute, allegedly abused her in filthy language and assaulted her with fist blows, resulting in a fracture to her nasal bone.
The case has been registered under Sections 352 and 117(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The accused was issued a notice under Section 35(3) of the BNSS.
Further investigation is being conducted by HC Vasudev A. Mahale (5401) of Saligao Police Station.
