QUEPEM: Quepem police have registered a case of culpable homicide against a woman after two brothers were electrocuted at Zambemol, Shivsorem, Rivona, on August 27.
According to police, accused Jayu Gaonkar, a resident of Shivsorem, Rivona, allegedly drew and installed a live electric wire from her house’s power board around her property to prevent trespassing.
On the night of August 27, before 10 pm, Rajendra Gaonkar and Mohandas Gaonkar, both residents of Pandevsada, Rivona, came into contact with the live wire while returning home with grass for their cattle. Both died on the spot due to electrocution.
Police have booked Jayu Gaonkar for culpable homicide, stating she acted with full knowledge of the fatal consequences.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Yogesh Gaonkar of Quepem Police Station.
