Mopa: Pernem Police have registered an offence against a 39-year-old woman passenger after two live ammunition rounds were detected in her baggage at Manohar International Airport, Mopa. The case was registered on February 18, 2026 at 17.10 hrs based on a complaint lodged by Mr. Lohith P.N., Duty Manager of ILHBSS at Manohar International Airport, Mopa, Pernem-Goa.
As per the complaint, at around 17.39 hrs on the same day, during pre-boarding security screening, airport security personnel detected two live rounds inside the baggage bearing tag No. 0312770358 belonging to the passenger, identified as Bindu Kumari, wife of Binay Kumar, resident of Upper Sukkar, Sukar Khas (399), Kangara, Himachal Pradesh. She was scheduled to travel to Chandigarh on IndiGo Flight No. 6E6015/IXE from Manohar International Airport.
Upon questioning, the accused allegedly failed to produce a valid licence for carrying the ammunition and also could not furnish any permission from the competent authority to transport the same on an aircraft, thereby violating the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) guidelines.
The accused has been summoned under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on February 18, 2026. Considering the seriousness of the offence, a Grave Crime Express Report has been forwarded to senior officers. Further investigation is in progress.
