Vasco: A woman has been booked by Vasco Police for allegedly misrepresenting her nationality as Indian in official land mutation proceedings despite being a Portuguese passport holder.
The complaint was lodged by Ravi Agnelo Lusi, a resident of Bhute Bhat, Vasco, who stated that in March 2023, the accused, identified as Elizaberth Flora Dias of Vasco, deceitfully swore three affidavits dated March 14, 2023, declaring herself as an Indian national.
These affidavits were submitted before the Mamlatdar of Mormugao in relation to mutation proceedings for three properties in Vasco city — Mutation Nos. 411602, 411603, and 411604 — covering PT Sheet Nos. 137 (Chalta Nos. 71 and 72) and 138 (Chalta No. 63). The complainant alleged that the fraudulent declaration misled the Mamlatdar and compromised the legal process, thereby cheating both the authorities and the complainant. The matter is currently under investigation by LPSI Priyanka Patil of Vasco Police Station.
