CALANGUTE: Calangute Police have registered Crime No. 159/2025 under Sections 131, 352, and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, following a complaint filed by Maria Fatima Rosita Pereira, 54, a resident of Naikwaddo, Calangute.
The offence was registered on November 15, 2025, at 5:37 pm.
According to the complainant, the incident occurred on October 23, 2025, around 10:30 am, when her brother-in-law, Feliciano F. Pereira, allegedly arrived at her residence armed with a cricket wicket.
He reportedly charged toward the complainant while abusing her and kicked a laterite stone kept for fencing measurements.
As he attempted to assault her, the complainant’s daughter, Milosha Pereira, intervened.
The accused then allegedly assaulted Milosha with the cricket wicket, striking her leg and head and causing a simple bleeding injury.
The complaint further states that the accused abused the complainant and her husband and attempted to assault her husband with a laterite stone, a crowbar (paray), and a PVC pipe, reportedly over a property-related dispute.
Police have issued a notice to the accused under Section 35 of BNSS. Further investigation is underway.
