PORVORIM:A 23-year-old woman from Socorro has filed a complaint alleging she was cheated of ₹6 lakh in a fraudulent property deal involving a plot in Thivim village.
According to police, the offence was registered on March 16 at 9:02 pm based on a written complaint by Priyanka Kumari, a resident of Sabnis Valley, Aradi Socorro, Porvorim. She alleged that the accused, identified as Sandesh Mayenkar of Chincholem, Tiswadi, deceived her on the pretext of selling a 200 sq. metre plot located under Survey No. 60, Sub-division 8-A in Thivim.
The complainant stated that the accused showed her property documents on multiple occasions and convinced her to transfer a total amount of ₹6 lakh through online transactions, bank transfers, and cash payments.
However, despite receiving the money, the accused neither transferred ownership of the property in her name nor returned the amount as promised.
Police have registered a case of cheating, and further investigation is underway under PSI Akash Chodankar.
