PONDA: Ponda Police have registered a case following a road accident at Farmagudi that left a woman grievously injured.
According to the complaint filed by Vaibhavi Lamgaonkar, a resident of Bicholim, the incident occurred on March 28, 2026 at around 4:00 pm near the GVMS circle at Farmagudi, Ponda. The accused driver, identified as Abhijit Borkar of Farmagudi, was allegedly driving a jeep in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Borim towards Panaji.
Police said that upon reaching near the GVMS circle, the jeep allegedly dashed against an Access scooter travelling from Ponda towards Panjim. As a result of the impact, the scooter rider, Vaibhavi Lamgaonkar of Gaonkarwada, Bicholim, sustained grievous injuries to her left hand.
Further investigation is being carried out by ASI Rohidas Bhomkar of Ponda Police Station.
