MORMUGAO: A woman sustained grievous injuries in a road accident at Sada, Mormugao, on Thursday morning after a car rammed into her scooter.
Police said the accident occurred around 8:15 am near Datta Mandir, NCPOR Junction, when a Fiat Linea driven by Mohammad Raashid Kutty of Baina dashed into a TVS Jupiter scooter ridden by Manisha Gupta of Headland Sada.
Gupta, who was proceeding towards Varanapuri, was thrown off her scooter in the impact and sustained serious injuries. She was immediately shifted to Goa Medical College, Bambolim, for treatment.
Mormugao Police have registered a case, and further investigation is being carried out by Head Constable Yeswant Marenkar.
