CURTORIM: A tragic accident at Mugali, near Bagwati Tiles Factory, claimed the life of a pedestrian woman on September 10.
According to Maina Curtorim Police, around 11:30 am, rider of a CB Hornet motorcycle, Sunil Talwar, a resident of Maina Curtorim, allegedly rode in a rash and negligent manner and knocked down Monica Silva of St. Jose de Areal Curtorim, who was attempting to cross the road. Silva fell on the tar road, sustained severe head injuries and later succumbed while undergoing treatment at GMC, Bambolim.
An inquest panchanama was conducted, and postmortem confirmed the cause of death as craniocerebral damage due to blunt force impact. The body was handed over to family members for final rites.
Police arrested Talwar on September 13, and he was later released on bail. Further investigation is being carried out by LPSI Sonal Gaonkar of Maina Curtorim Police Station.
