VASCO: A woman travelling on the Goa Express lost her gold mangalsutra and cash worth around ₹2.81 lakh after an unknown person allegedly stole her shoulder bag near Vasco Railway Station on September 22.
According to the complaint lodged by Gulam Ahmed Raza Mulla of New Vaddem, Vasco, his mother was travelling with her family from Belagavi to Vasco-da-Gama Railway Station. As the train approached Vasco around 7.20 am, she woke up and found her black shoulder bag missing. The bag reportedly contained a gold mangalsutra weighing 35 grams worth ₹2.8 lakh, ₹1,000 in cash, and a green ladies’ purse.
Vasco Railway Police have registered a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The investigation is being conducted by PSI Krishna Talpi under the supervision of PI Amarnath Passi and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
