PERNEM: Mandrem Police have registered a case after a woman from Maharashtra complained that she was molested and her friend assaulted late Friday night near a beach restaurant in Arambol.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 11:45 pm on November 28 near Hang Out Beach Restaurant at Madhalawada, Arambol. The complainant, 32, currently staying at a resort in Arambol, alleged that Jay Thakur, a resident of Morjim and originally from Madhya Pradesh, along with two unidentified associates, threw beer on her in public view.
Thakur then allegedly touched her shoulder inappropriately, outraging her modesty.
When her friend, Pratik Kirit Soni, intervened, the accused trio allegedly abused him and assaulted him with a beer bottle and a fork, causing injuries to his head.
Police registered the offence at 9:33 pm on November 29. Further investigation is being carried out by LPSI Archana Sharma.
