CURTORIM: A woman scooter rider was killed after her two-wheeler was hit by a Mahindra Thar jeep near St. Anthony Chapel at Tembi, Curtorim, on Thursday evening.
The case has been registered by Maina Curtorim Police based on a state complaint filed by Head Constable Sagar Mandrekar, attached to the police station.
According to police, the accident occurred on December 18, 2025, prior to 7.45 pm. The accused driver of the Mahindra Thar jeep has been identified as Nelson Gonsalves, a resident of Guirdolim. The jeep allegedly dashed into an Activa scooter being ridden by Inacia Catarina Silva, a resident of Povasao, Macasana.
Silva sustained serious injuries in the collision and later succumbed to her injuries.
Police have registered an offence in connection with the incident, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sanket Naik of Maina Curtorim Police Station.
