PANAJI: Around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Panaji witnessed a shocking instance of har beassment when a motorcyclist exposed himself and made offensive remarks to two women near the Down The Road restaurant.
On Instagram, one of the victims detailed her experience of the man approaching them while posing as kind. But when they looked more closely, they were appalled to realize that he was masturbating with one hand while riding with the other. And then he boldly said, “Nice ass.”
The women drove off, shocked and appalled. Instead of addressing the true problem of harassment, the victim questioned why society still expects women to “stay at home” and why such guys have the courage to act in such a way, expressing the powerlessness women frequently feel in such circumstances.
SP North Goa Akshat Kaushal said that the victim is being contacted by the police and that legal action is being taken. There is an ongoing investigation.
“I am personally in touch with the victim. Special teams from Panjim PS are working on identifying the said person,” said Kaushal
