VASCO: Long pending and much-awaited public utility project work of the Vasco model Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) bus stand is set to commence by the year-end of 2022.
The project will house all essential government offices, and it will be a multi-storey building, said KTC chairman Deepak Naik.
There have been agitations and long waits from people of Vasco to see the new model KTC bus stand for the last ten years. But sadly, it has far from getting materialised.
Further, to know this project’s present status, Mormugao Inbox contacted KTC chairman Deepak Naik.
Deepak Naik told Mormugao Inbox that the new model KTC bus stand project is worth 100 crores. 70 per cent of the polling work of this project has been completed so far. The pilling work cost is approximately 20 crores.
Further informing more about this project, Naik said it comprises a multi-storey building which will house all important government offices such as RTO, Deputy Collector, Mamlatdar, Civil supplies, etc. He further said that Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant held a meeting to review this project before the assembly election.
It was decided to pursue this project in three phases, to which CM agreed.
When asked when the project would start, he said that he had recently inspected the Vasco KTC bus stand. To start this project, it needs to be re-tendered. The project contractor needs to be contacted, and we will ask whether he will continue the work; if not, then the process to blocklist the contractor will be done and further the work will commence with another contractor,” Naik added.
When questioned when the project work is expected to start, Naik replied that by following all the necessary procedures, this project’s work will commence by the end of 2022.
