VERNA: A 29-year-old worker died after reportedly falling from the rooftop of an under-construction warehouse at Verna on Sunday morning.
According to police, information was received at around 10:00 am from PHC Cansaulim that an unknown male had been brought dead. Police visited the health centre and during enquiry identified the deceased as Peshkar Ashok Kumar, 29, a native of Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Police said the deceased had been working as a helper for the past two months at an under-construction warehouse of NDR Varma, India Logistic Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. During the course of work, he allegedly fell from the rooftop of the structure.
An inquest panchanama was conducted over the body. The body has been preserved at SGDH Margao for further medico-legal formalities.
Further enquiry is being carried out by PSI Prisly Carvalho of Verna Police Station.
