MARGAO: A 35-year-old worker died after being electrocuted while on duty at Chowgule & Company Pvt. Ltd.’s Shipbuilding Division in Goa on November 11, 2025.
Police received a call from the casualty ward of South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao at 2:45 pm, informing that Jiyalal Missal, resident of Loutolim and native of Uttar Pradesh, had been brought in dead from the worksite.
During inquiry, police recorded the statement of the deceased’s uncle, Ram Asre Navik, who confirmed that Jiyalal had suffered electrocution while working at the shipbuilding yard and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
An inquest panchanama was conducted, and the body was sent for autopsy, which confirmed that the cause of death was electrocution. The body has since been handed over to the family for final rites.
Further inquiry is being conducted by PSI Praful Giri of Margao Town Police Station.
