CANACONA – On Tuesday, the 8th International Yoga day is celebrated at different places, including the Community Health Centre, Temple Halls and Educational institutions of Canacona.
Community Health Centre (CHC) Canacona in the presence of Speaker of Legislative Assembly of Goa and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar, Deputy Collector Ramesh Gaonkar, CHC Canacona Health officer Dr Sneha Amonkar, Yoga Instructor JE Hemant Gavnekar, Ayurvedic Physician Dr Diwakarji Velip, WCD workers, and Staffs from CHC Canacona, Mamlatdar office, Deputy Collector Office, ICDS office were present for the Session.
Yoga day is also celebrated at Parshuram temple hall Poiguinim by Nirakar high school after its inauguration at the hands of PTA president Nishikant Tengse. Ajay Prabhu Gaonkar and Uday Prabhu Gaonkar also participated.
Celebration of International Yoga day was held at Shri Shradhanand Vidyalaya, Painginim, with various activities like ‘Yoga With Family’, ‘ Yoga with Nature’, Poster Drawing, Slogan writing with creativity etc. and the Chief Guest: was ex-ZP(Poinguinim) Dr Pushpa Aiya.
A Taluka level Yoga Day is Celebrated by the Directorate of Sports and Youth affairs at Panchayat Hall Shristhal with students from different schools.
Also, Yoga Day is observed at Shri Mallikarjun College Delem, besides all the high schools in the Taluka, by holding various programs and activities.
