CORTALIM: The Water Resources Department (WRD) office was inaugurated at the Cortalim Market Complex by Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar in the presence of Cortalim MLA Anton Vas.
Speaking to reporters, Vas emphasized that the new office would be highly beneficial to the residents of Cortalim and Mormugao Taluka. “Earlier, farmers and locals had to travel long distances for their work. We had previously brought the Zonal Agriculture Office to the Cortalim Market Complex to ease the burden on farmers, and now, with the WRD office, people from Mormugao Taluka will no longer have to go far for their needs,” he said.
Vas highlighted that several projects worth crores have been undertaken in Cortalim through the WRD department, making it ideal to have the office in the constituency. He further stated that the goal is to bring all essential government departments under one roof at the Cortalim Market Complex.
“In the past, we have successfully established a police outpost, post office, electricity department, and Zonal Agriculture Office here. Now, with the addition of the WRD office, the complex is becoming a key hub for government services,” Vas added.
