New Delhi: Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his stunning form in red-ball cricket, scoring a superb century on Day 2 of the second Test against West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. At Tea, India were cruising at 220 for 1, with Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan in complete control.
Jaiswal brought up his seventh Test hundred, becoming the Indian with the second-most centuries before the age of 24 a milestone that even legends like Virat Kohli and Sunil Gavaskar couldn’t achieve at that age.
Sai Sudharsan, showing impressive composure, registered his highest Test score and is inching toward his maiden century. Earlier, KL Rahul fell for 38 after being stumped while trying to counter a sharp turn, ending what looked like a solid innings.
For Shubman Gill, it was a day of small victories too. Captaining India in a home Test for the first time, he finally broke his streak of bad luck at the toss, winning it after six failed attempts. India are now pushing to seal the series 2-0 against Roston Chase’s West Indies.
