New Delhi: Reflecting on his experience during India’s recent tour of England, where he was part of the squad but didn’t feature in any of the five Tests, Easwaran said it was difficult to watch from the sidelines. Alongside Kuldeep Yadav, he remained unused throughout the series, as the team management opted for other players.
“Yes, it does hurt sometimes. You work hard, train every day, and dream of playing and contributing to the team’s success. But I’m lucky to have a strong support system my family, friends, and coach keep me going,” he said.
The 28-year-old, first called up to the national squad in December 2022, is still awaiting his debut. Despite the emergence of younger talents like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Easwaran remains hopeful.
“Right now, I’m focused on the upcoming Ranji season. I just try to control what I can work harder and stay ready,” he added.
While his chances may seem uncertain, Easwaran finds inspiration in players who made their international debut in their 30s, and continues to chase his dream.
