PANAJI: The YMCA Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at the Indoor Stadium, Campal, has reached an exciting stage with Sachi Dessai set to face Aayushi Amonkar in the U-13 Girls final, while the U-15 Girls title clash will feature top seed Ishita Colaso against second seed Aarna Lotlikar. The event is organised by YMCA Panjim in association with the Goa Table Tennis Association.
In the U-13 quarterfinals, Sachi defeated Inara D’Souza 3-0, while Tisha Shaikh got past Anaya Shukla by the same margin. Gianna George pulled off a surprise by edging out Aarna Lotlikar 3-2, before Aayushi Amonkar outplayed Evangeline Rodrigues 3-0. The semifinals were tense affairs, with Sachi overcoming Tisha 3-2 and Aayushi edging Gianna 3-2 to book their spots in the summit clash.
In the U-15 category, Ishita Colaso looked dominant, beating Inara D’Souza 3-0 in the quarters and brushing aside Sachi Dessai 3-0 in the semis. On the other side, Aarna Lotlikar defeated Tisha Shaikh 3-1 before overpowering Aayushi Amonkar 3-0 to seal her place in the final.
The stage is now set for two thrilling finals as the top performers battle for supremacy.
