Panjim: The YMCA Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at the Indoor Stadium, Campal, has reached its decisive stage with several top seeds storming into the finals across categories. The week-long championship is being organised by YMCA Panjim under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association.
In the Under-13 Boys semifinals, Ruhaan Shaikh defeated Ishaan Colaso 3-1, while Vedant Wagle registered a similar 3-1 win over Yuvaan Sanke, setting up a much-anticipated title clash.
The Under-15 Boys section will see top seed Chandan Caro face second seed Dhruva Kamat in a high-voltage final. Chandan blanked Ishaan Colaso 3-0 in the quarters before outclassing Ruhaan Shaikh 3-0 in the semis. Dhruva, meanwhile, eased past Yug Prabhu 3-0 in the quarters and then overcame Vedant Wagle 3-1 in the semifinals.
In the Under-11 Girls category, top seed Anaya Shukla stormed into the final with a dominant 3-0 win over Claire George, while second seed Shaurya Dessai booked her place after a gritty 3-1 victory against Tvisha Kotkar. Earlier in the quarters, Anaya beat Tasha Mascarenhas 3-0, Claire edged Sanaz Shaikh 3-2, Tvisha battled past Aarna Walwalkar 3-2, and Shaurya cruised past Nishka Nayak 3-0.
The finals across categories promise exciting encounters as Goa’s young paddlers chase glory at the prestigious ranking tournament.
