QUEPEM: A sorrowful incident unfolded on Sunday evening in Padamol, located in the Sirvoi-Quepem region, where a girl estimated to be between 8 and 9 years old tragically drowned in a canal, leaving the local community in deep shock and mourning.
Upon receiving information, the Quepem Police reached the site and carried out a panchanama — the standard procedure involving spot inspection and documentation. The child’s body was then transported to the District Hospital in Margao, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the precise cause of death.
Law enforcement authorities have initiated a detailed investigation and are exploring all possible scenarios, including the likelihood of negligence or foul play.
