SANGUEM: A tragic incident unfolded in Kazur, Sanguem, where a young woman lost her life after being shot during a get-together with friends. Both the victim and the accused are residents of Sanquelim.
According to preliminary police findings, the accused, identified as Sweth Gaude (23), a crane operator from Pale, Bicholim, was allegedly handling a rifle at the gathering. In what is suspected to be a reckless act, he reportedly pointed the weapon at his female friend in a joking manner and accidentally pulled the trigger.
The victim, Tanvi Ghadi (20), who worked at a Maggie company and hailed from Surla, Sanquelim, sustained critical injuries in the incident. She later succumbed to the gunshot wound.
Police have taken the accused into custody, and further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
