PANAJI: The President of the Goa Pradesh Youth Congress, Archit Shantaram Naik, on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the BJP leadership, accusing the party of allowing ill-informed and irresponsible statements from its youth wing on serious constitutional and legal issues.
Reacting to recent remarks made by the BJYM President, Naik demanded that BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, and BJP Goa President Damu Naik first “educate and tutor” their youth wing leadership before letting them speak to the media.
Naik said that making casual and misleading comments on constitutional provisions such as Article 163 reflects a disturbing lack of legal understanding and exposes what he termed the “intellectual bankruptcy” of the BJP’s youth wing.
“Speaking without understanding the Constitution is not bravery—it is ignorance. Such statements are misleading, irresponsible, and dangerous as they attempt to confuse the people of Goa on matters of law and governance,” Naik asserted.
He further stated that the comments highlight the political immaturity of BJYM leadership, accusing them of blindly parroting half-baked narratives without any grasp of constitutional responsibilities or democratic norms.
The Youth Congress president also questioned the BJP’s silence on pressing issues affecting Goan youth, including rising unemployment, soaring prices, shrinking job opportunities, and what he described as a complete failure of governance under the BJP regime.
“Instead of acting as a mouthpiece to divert attention, the BJP’s youth wing should introspect and answer the real questions troubling Goan youth today,” Naik said.
Concluding his remarks, Naik stated that the Youth Congress would continue to expose what he called the BJP’s incompetence and would not allow the people of Goa—especially its youth—to be misled by ill-informed statements and political theatrics.
