VERNA: A 21-year-old youth was found dead after he was discovered unconscious in a room at Verna on Sunday.
According to police, information was received from PHC Cansaulim at around 12.25 pm on March 29 that one Bharat Korva, a resident of Verna and native of Jharkhand, was brought dead after being found unconscious.
During enquiry, it was revealed that the deceased and his friends had consumed alcohol till late night on March 28. Police said the youth later went to sleep without having dinner, and in the morning his friends found him unconscious with froth from his nose. He was immediately shifted to PHC Cansaulim, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Police conducted the scene of occurrence and inquest panchanama. The body has been preserved at SGDH, Margao, for medico-legal formalities.
