BAMBOLIM: A 22-year-old man from West Bengal residing in Calangute passed away while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim, on Friday.
According to police sources, a wireless message received from GMC informed that patient Sushant Barman, aged 22 years and residing at Agarwaddo, Calangute, was declared dead in Ward No. 100 at around 11:50 a.m. on October 24, 2025. The case was registered under MLC No. 25/9323.
Enquiry revealed that Barman had been referred to GMC from the District Hospital, Mapusa, on October 23 as a case of altered sensorium.
Further interaction with his family and relatives indicated that he had been suffering from fever for the past few days and had been vomiting for the last three days before being admitted.
The deceased, originally hailing from Safanagar, Shazadpur, PO Safanagar, District Dakshin Dinajpur, West Bengal (PIN 733141), was residing in Bardez, Goa, for work purposes.
Further investigation into the case is being carried out by PSI Vishwajit Dhavalikar.
