AMBELIM: An 18-year-old youth, Mohammed Fazlu, a native of Malda in West Bengal and residing in Cutbona, lost his life in a self-accident involving a two-wheeler on Sunday.
According to Cuncolim police, Fazlu, who was reportedly unfamiliar with riding two-wheelers, attempted to operate a parked vehicle in the absence of its owner. He managed to ride for approximately 100 metres before losing control and crashing. The impact resulted in severe head injuries.
The incident came to light when the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Balli informed Cuncolim police that a young man had been brought in dead following a road mishap. Police confirmed that the case has been registered as a motor vehicle accident.
The deceased’s body has been sent to the South Goa District Hospital for preservation and medico-legal procedures. Further investigation is underway.
