ANJUNA: Anjuna Police arrested a 19-year-old youth in the early hours of Thursday after seizing over 3 kg of ganja and cash amounting to ₹1.58 lakh during a narcotics raid.
Police said the raid was conducted near Rocky Garage, Anjuna, between 12.35 am and 3.30 am based on specific information. The accused, identified as Bapi Mandal, originally from West Bengal and currently residing in a rented room in Anjuna, was allegedly found with 3.001 kg of ganja worth around ₹3 lakh stored in a white plastic sack.
The contraband and other exhibits were seized under a search and seizure panchanama, police added. Mandal was placed under arrest at 4.35 am under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Nitesh Shingadi of Anjuna Police Station.
