MAPUSA: In a harrowing incident that has sent shockwaves through the social media community, popular YouTuber and motivational speaker Ranveer Allahbadia, known as “Beer Biceps,” and his girlfriend, actress Nikki Sharma, narrowly escaped a near-drowning experience at a beach in Goa.
The dramatic event unfolded on Christmas Eve, highlighting the unpredictable power of nature.
Ranveer, an avid ocean swimmer since his childhood, recounted the terrifying experience on his Instagram account. On Christmas Day, he shared a detailed post along with photographs from their Goa trip, expressing his gratitude for their survival.
“Merry Christmas to you all, from Goa. It’s been the most eventful Christmas of my life. Gonna be very vulnerable in this write up,” he began, setting the tone for a heartfelt and introspective account.
The incident occurred around 6:00 PM on Christmas Eve when what started as a leisurely swim in the open sea quickly turned into a life-threatening situation. A powerful underwater current swept both Ranveer and Nikki away, leaving them struggling to stay afloat. Despite being experienced swimmers, the duo found it incredibly challenging to navigate the strong current, especially with each other’s added weight. “After a 5-10 minute struggle, we called for help and were promptly rescued by a family of five swimming nearby,” Ranveer explained.
The ordeal was intense, with Ranveer describing a moment where he swallowed a lot of water and began to feel himself fading away. It was at this critical point that he decided to shout for help. The timely intervention of an IPS officer and his IRS officer wife, who were part of the family that rescued them, proved to be a lifesaver. Ranveer expressed deep gratitude towards the family, acknowledging the divine intervention that saved their lives. “This experience left us feeling both blank as well as grateful. We felt the protection of God throughout the incident,” he reflected.
The incident has had a profound impact on Ranveer, altering his perspective on life. As he moved into Christmas Day, he was filled with gratitude for being alive and appreciated the blessings of life more than ever before.
