Noted gangster Zenito Cardozo, who is one of the accused in St Cruz shootout, has been remanded to five days police custody by JMFC on Thursday.
Zenito, who was had filed for anticipatory bail, had surrendered before the SSDPO, Panaji on Wednesday,
Cardozo had moved the local court seeking relief from arrest after the North Goa Police launched a massive hunt to trace his whereabouts. Several people have been questioned and dozens of possible hide outs raided in a failed bid to track him down.
After initial reluctance, the police havd called him a prime conspirator of the attack. Imran Bepari’s house was attacked on June 20 which accidentally resulted in the killing of Sonu Yadav, fellow gang member.
