CANACONA: The annual Sharadotsava celebrations started in 1923 in the school of Centre Promoter De Instrusav (CPI)’s Shree Mallikarjun Vidyalaya, one of Canacona’s oldest and leading educational institutions, is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm as ended on Tuesday.
On the occasion of this Sharadotsav, Canacona Taluka level inter-schools Ghumat Aarti completion was held in the school on Monday.
The winning team Shri Satyavati Soiru Angle HSS, Maxem bagged the first cash prize of 7000/-, Rs.6000/- as second prize cash was awarded to Shree Shraddhanand Vidyalaya Painguinim while Shree Balaram Higher Secondary School, Ordhofond took the Third Prize Cash of Rs.5000/-. Also, Shri Mallikarjun Higher Secondary School was awarded the first Consolation prize and Shri Panchagram Aarti Mandal was awarded the second Consolation prize.
Prizes were distributed at the hands of all the office bearers of CPI present on the occasion. Also, the annual Mahapuja of Shri Satyanarayan Dev was held in the school.
The President of the General Assembly of CPI Babuso Naik Gaonkar along with his wife worshiped while Suresh Rane, a former teacher of the Vidhyalaya and his wife took part in the Mahapuja.
CMC Chairperson Sara Shamba Desai and some of the councillors, and staff of the municipality, as well as many government employees of Canacona, former students of the school (CPI), members of the organization, well-wishers, many parents, took part and blessings of Shri Mallikarjuna D vans Mahaprasad was also given to all.
Thereafter, after worshipping Shri Saraswati Mata, the immersion procession of Shri Saraswati Mata, accompanied by hundreds of students, parents, teachers, members, board, along with hundreds of students, parents, teachers, members, executive board, left for immersion with the beats of dhol-taste, performances and dances of the Lizum team of students, while Sharadotsav celebrations were concluded with joy and happiness.
