SALIGAO: Saligao Police Station has registered an unnatural death case following the death of a 16-month-old child from Verem in Bardez.
According to police, Saligao Police registered U.D. No. 19/2026 under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita after receiving a wireless message from GMC Bambolim informing that Lado, daughter of Sunil Sahani, aged 16 months, was brought dead to the hospital.
Police said the child was residing near Pryati High School at Verem, Bardez, and originally hailed from Deoria in Uttar Pradesh.
During inquiry, it was revealed that the child had developed fever and her health condition later deteriorated. Family members rushed her to Goa Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Police said the body has been preserved at the GMC morgue for further procedures.
Further inquiry in the case is being carried out by PSI Sarvesh Bhandari of Saligao Police Station.
