PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today informed that 171 raids have been conducted
related to female human trafficking from the year 2017 to 2022.
“In 2017, 38 raids were conducted; in 2018, 51 cases, 42 raids in 2019, 19 raids in 2020, and 14 raids in 2021. This year up to June 30, 7 raids have been conducted,” said CM Sawant.
He further informed that no routine inspection is being carried out. However, a discreet watch is maintained on all raided places through Beat, Robin, and Robot staff of concerned Police Stations that the places are not re-indulged in such illegal activities.
“No vulnerable and dark spot has been identified by the Police department,” he added.
Sawant said that all Officers and staff of Police Stations in Goa have been instructed to collect intelligence in this regard and keep a sharp vigil over such illegal activities.
