Anjuna: Dy Collector Bardez Kapil Phadte on Friday issued show cause notice to 19 bar and restaurant for violating the noise pollution rules.
Complaint was received from the residents of Assagao and Anjuna stating that hotels on the Coastal belt are violating the Noise pollution rules. Acting on the complainant, show cause notices are issued to 19 violators. We have been receiving many such complaints. We will crack down on violators and take action”, Dy Collector Kapil Phadte said.
The complainant made by the Villagers included a video which was taken at 5 in the morning of rave party.
The list of 19 hotels whom the notices are issued are Hill Top, Chronicles Beach shack, Larive Beach resort, Banyan tree, Bomay Adda, Antares Beach Resort, Sunburn beach club, UV bar and restaurant, Pirate cafe( Hippies ocena park), curlies, shiva valley , cafe Lilliput, aura Beach resort, Pinakin, Disco Valley, Thalasa (Teso), Dream beach cafe, Jungle Origens Restuarant and Nine bar and restaurant.
Villagers claimed that these parties commences during the sunset conclude on next day morning. The hotels play loud music while violating the noise pollution rules
The complainant Desmond Alvares said, “From several years we have been raising this issue but till date none of the authorities have bothered to take cognizance of the same. The parties continued unabated with Anjuna Police till today reporting “No Noise ” to PCR, which is false”.
“Though the present Deputy Collector Bardez has promised to take action on the memorandum, I will wait and watch, failing which I will approach the NGT with all evidence. The Goa Chief Minister, DGP, IGP are all aware of it since I have already communicated the same to them”, Alvares said.
“I have been receiving threats from these Rave party organizers. Tomorrow if anything happens to me then the authorities should be held responsible for the same”, Alvares claimed.
