Panaji: In a move aimed at improving hygiene and convenience for women, the Court of the Principal District & Sessions Judge, North Goa, has announced plans to install 28 automatic sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerators across various courts in North Goa.
The machines will be set up at the District and Sessions Court in Merces, as well as at all Taluka Courts in the North Goa district. The new facilities will ensure that women attending court proceedings have access to sanitary products and proper disposal options, promoting a more inclusive environment in the judicial system.
The Court has invited quotations for the installation of these vending machines and incinerators at the New District Court Complex in Merces, Tiswadi, as part of an initiative to improve infrastructure and offer more support for women visitors and staff.
This initiative reflects a growing awareness of the need for better hygiene facilities in public spaces, particularly in places like courts where people spend extended periods of time. The installation is expected to enhance comfort and dignity for women, ensuring that they are provided with the necessary amenities during their visits to the court.
The move has been welcomed by women’s rights activists and legal professionals, who see it as a step toward creating more equitable environments in public offices and judicial spaces.
