MAPUSA: A raid at the new KTC bus terminal in Mapusa resulted in the arrest of five people and the seizure of 10.3 kg of ganja valued at around Rs 10 lakh.
Chandankumar Sharma (age 22), Rohit Sharma (age 21), Imitya Ansari (age 21), Vijay Valwaikar (age 25) of Camurlim, and Parashuram Lamani (age 36) of the Housing Board Camurlim have been identified as the individuals who were detained.
After learning that drugs were being sold at the new KTC bus terminal, the police carried out a raid on Thursday between 3:30 and 6 p.m. As a result, a police squad set up a trap and apprehended the suspects.
Vijay Valwaikar and Parashuram Lamani were the other accused who reportedly came to take possession of the 10.3 kg of ganja that the accused Chandankumar, Rohit, and Imitya had brought to the bus station. All five individuals were apprehended by police, and the ganja was confiscated.
Police Inspector Nikhil Palekar is in charge of overseeing the investigations, while Superintendent of Police Akshat Kaushal and DySP Sandesh Chodankar provide direction.
