PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has said that during two meetings with the villagers, he has already assured them that three time compensation will be provided to the farmers.
He said that the proposed land is barren and Government is also ready to go out of way to provide 50 per cent compensation to the tenants by making necessary provision in the law.
Sawant said that all options are thrown open to the villagers and farmers including priority in jobs at the airport
He said during meeting, the villagers were requested to allow conduct of survey. He said that no houses or structure will be demolished for the proposed highway.
” Road is partially going through agriculture land and through cashew cultivation, for which we have agreed to give three time compensation,” he said.
Meanwhile, CM Sawant said that will attend the virtual meeting of Niti Aayog’ Governing Council meeting on Saturday, which would be chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking to reporters, Sawant said that he has already forwarded the written submission to the Aayog, which he would be presenting again through his speech on Saturday.
He said that he would be raising various issues right from sustainable development goal, land acquisition and other development related activities.
