QUEPEM: 30 suspected Dengue cases have been detected since March to May in Morpirla Panchayat of Quepem taluka. The Dengue cases have made come back after the recent rainfall was witnessed due to weather conditions in Goa.
Mamata Kakodkar, health officer of Balli Primary Health Center said at present, suspected Dengue cases are increasing day by day in Quepem constituency and about 30 suspected dengue patients have been found in Morpirla Panchayat area from last March to May.
Although she added that presently the situation is under control ,where our medical team visited daily bases in Morpirla panchayat. The number of suspected dengue patients in Morpirla is 30 and they have been receiving treatment at Balli Health Center for the last three months.
According to Health Officer, a total of 30 patients were found in Morpirla Panchayat and especially in Dhabe and Kanjibagh areas of Morpirlla Panchayat areas, and some of them have been cured, but still at present there are 6 patients in the Balli health centre in which 5 men and 1 woman have been admitted to Balli Primary Health Center and are undergoing treatment for dengue.
She said that the condition has not yet worsened due to Dengue.
Kakodkar said that our medical team from a special health center from Panaji has come to Morpirla to check and inspect the Dengue outbreak in the village also our sanitary team has been regularly working to control’ the situation. Fogging has been done with the help of local panchayats. Community awareness is being done in the village.
When contacted Quepem MLA Alton D’Costa, he said “When I was informed about this by the Health authorities, I was given a special transport service and also fogging is done to deal with the situation. We got help from the medical staff of the health center.”
“For the past month or so, we have started the process of fogging in that village and the Bali Health Center has done a great job in controlling the disease. Now it is the responsibility of the main health office from now on to take care of this situation,” said D’Costa.
