VASCO: 42-year-old man, identified as Madan Parab, a resident of New Vaddem, Vasco, died while being shifted to the Goa Medical College (GMC) in a 108 ambulance on October 1, 2026.
Police received information from the casualty department of SDH Chicalim regarding the death. Police visited the hospital and conducted an enquiry with the on-duty doctor, who reportedly stated that the death was suspected to have been caused by consumption of poison.
According to enquiries with the deceased’s friends and relatives, Parab had arrived in Goa from Sawantwadi, Maharashtra, on October 1. He was later found lying and shivering near Harbour Sada and was subsequently shifted to SDH Chicalim for medical treatment.
However, he died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The body has been preserved at SGDH Margao for further medico-legal formalities.
