PANAJI: With 420 testing positive for covid from 3,002 samples tested, Goa recorded a positivity rate of 13.99%. The active covid count of Goa reached below 5,000 marks after exactly 2 months. On April 14 the count had crossed 5,000 mark and had reached the peak in mid May with over 32,800 cases.
Goa recorded 14 more covid deaths in the last 24-hours taking the death toll of the state to 2,928. Of the 14 deaths, 12 were recorded at GMC and one at Galaxy hospital. One person was brought dead at Hospicio, Margao. A 59-year-old man from Bambolim, 40-year-old man from Mapusa, 84-year-old woman from St Cruz, 63-year-old man from Curca, 67-year-old man from Valpoi, 76-year-old woman from Canca, 40-year-old woman from Karnataka, 76-year-old woman from Canca, 61-year-old woman from Madel, 75-year-old woman from Vasco, 53-year-old man from Maharashtra, 52-year-old man from Corlim, 67-year-old woman from Tivim and 81-year-old man from Cuncolim succumbed to covid in last 24-hours.
