MOPA: A Mandrem resident was accused of having six live revolver rounds of ammunition in his luggage at the Manohar International Airport, prompting the Mopa Airport Police to file a formal complaint against him.
The accused, Dickson D’Souza, 56, was scheduled to board a private airline trip to Chennai when he was stopped during a security check at Manohar International Airport, according to the police.
The rounds were found in the accused’s handbag, and he was unable to provide a legitimate arms license to carry and possess them. Furthermore, he violated Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) regulations by failing to obtain authorization from the appropriate authority to transport the ammunition on the aircraft.
Under Section 35(3) of the BNSS, an offense has been reported, and an investigation is being conducted. LPSI Sashanka Parab of the Mopa Airport Police Station is in charge of the case.
